So, you’ve finally put together your business Facebook page. And you're probably focused on thinking of all the fun content that you will include such as photos, events, tips, and tricks, and don’t forget grandma’s apple pie recipe. But STOP!…before you do all that. The next step that is often overlooked…is that you need to get the word out. Now how are you going to do that exactly? Well, I suppose you could hire your brother’s neighbor to stand on the corner and spin signs.
You most definitely want to include your Facebook page on your business website, either on your contact us page, or perhaps even in a sidebar. Back in the day, you only had a couple of options, you could add a text link to your page, or a Facebook icon directed to your page. But today, we have a variety of options, such as:
Don’t forget to add your social media to your business card. Don’t think you you’ll have enough room? You will hear me say it again and again, "Double Sided Business Cards!” It’s a very cost effective way to get your message out there…and give them additional options for reaching out to you, including your Facebook Address. Here is a great resource for business cards, both single and double sided: BrochuresAndMore.com
Did you consider putting your Facebook link in your email? I don’t know about you, but one of the first places I check for contact information is someone’s email signature.
You can cross-promote your Facebook page link with other social media platforms, such as Linked In and Instagram. But there are lots of other networking sites like Meet Up, or Angie’s List where you can fill out a profile on your business. And then don’t forget about your local Chamber of Commerce websites, Organizations, Clubs, Networking Groups, and High School/College Alumni sites. Any profile that you fill out should include your Facebook business link.
